About Me
My name is Melinda Piesse and I am a professional artist and educator with specialisms in the Visual Arts, English and Textiles.
I completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts degree, majoring in Tapestry at Monash University in 2005 and achieved first class Honours the following year.
I completed a Diploma of Education, specializing in English and Art in 2010, whilst completing my Master of Fine Arts degree in 2011 and continue to create textile artworks from my home studio.
I have exhibited at Craft Victoria, the Australian Tapestry Workshop, Kendall School of Art and Design (USA), Monash University and the University of Adelaide.
I have collaborated with other artists and had my first solo exhibition The Undiscovered Country, at Antipodes Gallery, Sorrento, Victoria in 2009.
My work features in private and public collections across the Mornington Peninsula, select exhibitions, displays and promotions.
I would like to use this blog to share my artwork, thoughts and classes offered on the WWW!
